Béret is a textile concept designed to cover existing seating elements. Originally developed for the 2023 Art and Context exhibition at IVAM, the project repurposed museum seating and display elements found in storage, minimizing material use to just a quarter of a cubic meter and reducing costs to less than half of the production budget.
The result is a soft landscape that mirrors the scale and presence of the exhibited artworks, offering perspectives on them. Inspired by the idea of a soft rock for Darío Alva and Diego V. Navarro’s fictitious landscapes, the design features stretched gestures reminiscent of M. Reme Silvestre’s fascia and the burned tones of Álvaro Porras’s works. The exhibition was curated by Julia Castelló and Ali A. Maderuelo.
